Responsible conduct is the basis of our cooperation. This code of conduct defines the qualitative, social and ecological requirements for our suppliers and business partners.
Scope
This code of conduct applies to the suppliers and business partners of Diagramm Halbach GmbH & Co. KG and its subsidiaries Fleischhauer Datenträger GmbH, Typolac GmbH, NIKA Medical Produkte GmbH, Unipress GmbH and k-h-t GmbH & Co. KG (the "Halbach Group").
Preamble
The companies of the Halbach Group cooperate with business partners whose products and services have a direct impact on the quality of our products. Our customers are at the centre of everything we do; we aim to guarantee the best possible product quality and security of supply.
General requirements
- Compliance with the applicable national laws and with this guideline.
- Consideration of these requirements as a minimum standard when selecting their own and upstream business partners.
- Full responsibility of business partners for their own supply chain.
Quality and duty to inform
We expect the highest possible standards. All products and services must meet current quality requirements and legal provisions; medical devices must comply with the applicable medical device law. Quality problems and recalls must be reported without delay.
Human rights and labour standards
Business partners do not tolerate violations of human rights or labour standards and do not benefit from forced, slave or child labour. The benchmark is the ten principles of the UN Global Compact:
- Support and respect the protection of international human rights.
- Ensure they are not complicit in human rights abuses.
- Uphold freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining.
- Support the elimination of all forms of forced labour.
- Support the abolition of child labour.
- Support the elimination of discrimination in employment and occupation.
- Apply a precautionary approach to environmental challenges.
- Undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental awareness.
- Accelerate the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies.
- Work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.
In addition, the ILO core labour standards must be observed: freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining, elimination of forced labour, abolition of child labour and the prohibition of discrimination in employment and occupation. Equal opportunity, equal treatment, fair remuneration as well as health protection and occupational safety must be promoted.
Environmental protection
Business partners ensure compliance with applicable environmental laws and standards and hold the necessary permits. Natural resources such as water and energy must be used sparingly; environmental pollution and hazards must be minimised.
Compliance and anti-corruption
- No benefits offered to influence decisions or to obtain an unfair advantage.
- Business decisions made solely on objective criteria, free from conflicts of interest.
- Compliance with rules on money laundering, terrorist financing, trade control and antitrust law.
- Proper documentation and accounting of all business transactions.
- Observance of all relevant data protection regulations and implementation of appropriate technical and organisational measures.
Complaints and reports
With the whistleblower portal halbach.integrityline.com, the Halbach Group offers all employees and external parties the option of confidential and anonymous reporting. The procedure complies with the EU Whistleblowing Directive. All reports are processed and, where necessary, appropriate measures are taken.
Closing remark
The companies of the Halbach Group reserve the right to verify compliance with this guideline at their business partners.
